| Can
you take part in a clinical trial? |
|
If you decide that you would like to take
part in a clinical trial, it is important that you consider
the following factors:
Each study has strict guidelines
on who can take part. For instance, a trial might be for
a certain age group, a particular type or stage of cancer,
or for patients with specific previous treatments.
At present in Ireland, clinical trials are not open for all types of
cancer and are not available in all parts of the country. ICORG is working
to improve this situation.
Your consultant will have to assess whether taking part in a clinical
trial is suitable for you and is in your best interests.

doctor about the possibility of you taking part in a
clinical trial.
